This is a article about 5 amazing animals, the peacock, the river otter, the Anaconda, the orangutans and the adalie penguings.
Peacocks are the largest flying birds in the world. Even though the emu and the ostritch are larger birds, they can not fly. However, peacocks are weak fliers. Each peacock has 100 to 150 brightly coloured feathers. They show off theirs feathers to a mate by vibrating their feathers. The brighter their feathers are, the more likely a female would be attracted to it. Once a peacock has found a mate, the female is in charge of laying the eggs and taking care of them. The male do not take care of the eggs. Peacocks eat fruits, seeds, insects, worms, and even snakes. the peacock is also India's national bird.
The river otter is a playful animal. It can be spotted gliding on its body. Even though they stay in the the water most of the time, they still can be seen on land looking for a mate. When they dive into the water to catch its prey, it closes it ears to keep out the water. their tail is one third of its total body length. they eat crayfishes, snails, and snakes.
Anacondas are the largest and the heaviest snake in the world. They can grow up to 9m, and weigh 227kg!Its spanish name is matatoro, meaning bull killer. I find this name very appropriate. They belong to a family of snakes called constrictors, meaning that they strangle their prey, not poision they prey by biting them. they have special jaws which allow them to swallow their prey whole. Suprisingly, they have never killed a human before. They live in swallow waters. They can live up to 10 years.
Orangutans are probably one of the smartest animals in the world. This is not susprising as 97% of their genetic makeup is similar to us. They have beenknown to make mattress out of twigs and leaves. Some of them even build roofs on top of their houses so that they would keep dry when it rains. They have powerful arms which allow them to swing from tree to tree with ease. Males can weigh upm to100kg while females would only weigh up to 50kg. They are mammals and they give birth to a baby once every 8years. Babies stay with the abult for about 11 to 12 months. They live on average 35years in the wild and 50 years under captivity. This tells us how much dangers there are in the wild.
Last of all, I would like to tell you about Adelie Penguins. THey live in artic waters on the shores of Antartica. Every year in October, thousands of them gather on the shorwes of Antartica to breed. They have learnt to put stones in their nests to keep the eggs warm in a cold place such as Antartica. Each penguuin can live up to 20 years, weigh up to41kg and grow up to 69.9cm. They are white with black spots. They were discovered by Dumont d'Urville, who named them after his wife.
I hope that you have enjoyed reading about amazing animals and will continue to be amazed by nature's wonderful creations

I was born on1996 June the 21st. According to my mother, I was quiet and selom cried as a baby. When I was three, I started going to Kindergarden.

At 2001, I started going to my first primary school- Henry Park Primary School. I went into primary 1G. I met the friends I was going to see for the next three years there. When I was seven, I started to play badminton and learn to swim. As a child, I enjoy playing sports. During my first three years of primary school, I did not have much homework so I managed to trian often. It was during this time that I improved the most. I worked hard and that was how I managed to get into 4A-the best primary four class.

Since primary four, my school life became more busy. It was then that I started learning how to play the piano as a form of relaxation. Whenever I had time, I would play the piano. That was one of the main reasons why I progressed puickly. I realised that whatever I did, I had to put in effort and try my best to excel. I also worked very hard for the end of the year exam. However, I made many careless mistakes and I was quite suprised when I got into 5A.

I breezed through my primary5 life. However, I made careless mistakes and got into 6I-the second best primary six class. I am working hard now to get into my dream secordary school-Hwa Chong. That will be all for now!

More about Elizabeth Choy

During the Japanese Occupation, she worked as a canteen operator with her husband at the Mental Hospital which was renamed Miyako Hospital (the predecessor of Woodbridge Hospital) where patients from General Hospital had been moved to. They secretly brought food, medicine, money, messages and even radios to British internees. Unfortunately, they were caught by the Japanese. After the war, Elizabeth was invited to England as a celebrated war heroine noted as the only female local to have been incarcerated for such an extended period. She went there as part of the privileged few who were invited to Britain to recuperate from the war but her stay extended three more years, totalling four years there.

Elizabeth Choy

She was a war herione because she endured the torture of the Japanese during World War2. She was also a dedicated teacher too. She was seperated from her husband because her husand was sentenced for sending radios to the prisoners. After the war, she forgo the chance to identify the Japanese who tortured her. This tells us she is a kind person who likes peace.
